Mark Dantonio said Michigan State football’s closer-than-expected win over Utah State on Friday served as a wake-up call to his players. “I don’t think we played our best football game by any stretch last Friday,” Dantonio said of the 12th-ranked Spartans’ 38-31 victory over the Aggies. “But it’s a starting point. … My perception is we can play better, we will play better.”
