Khari Willis has seen what he considers great leadership at Michigan State: his freshman year, in 2015, under captains Shilique Calhoun and Riley Bullough. The Spartans won the Big Ten championship and reached the College Football Playoff that season. Willis has lived through the inverse, too, which was a significant factor in 2016, the program’s worst season of head coach Mark Dantonio’s tenure.
