The question before fall camp began was whether this secondary could reach the heights of the “No Fly Zone” crew, which peaked in 2013. The injury to sophomore cornerback Josiah Scott makes that less likely. Scott could be back by October if the original timeline sticks. Either way, the Spartans have a young star on the other side of the field in lanky junior Justin Layne.
