The NCAA Tournament committee gave a glimpse into its thinking about Michigan State back on Feb. 11, and it wasn’t pretty. Michigan State was rated No. 4 in the Associated Press poll that day and had just recorded a top-five win over Purdue a day before to move to 24-3 overall.
