There is no reasonable argument that having the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament in New York City is good for Big Ten fans or players.  It’s more than 500 miles and at least an eight-hour drive from every Midwestern fan base. And that’s an issue, because part of what makes a conference tournament a great road trip is the ability to leave town when your team loses and, if your team gets on a run, jump in the car last minute and buy cheap tickets off the losing fans as they leave.
