Before the first practice of fall camp, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and his players continuously reiterated their stance that the 2016 season was an anomaly. And, they were right. The Spartans flipped last year’s 3-9 record to 9-3 (7-2 Big Ten) heading into the Dec. 28 Holiday Bowl in San Diego against Washington State. The resurgence didn’t come as a surprise to the players committed to Michigan State’s 2018 class.
