The college basketball exhibition setup doesn’t typically allow for high-major big men to face off against like-sized opponents. By rule, Division 1 teams like Michigan State can only play exhibitions against Division 2 opponents. That typically pits teams like the Spartans against exclusively smaller teams until their regular season starts. That changed on Sunday, when an NCAA waiver allowed Michigan State to play Georgia in a charity exhibition.
