The first men’s basketball Coaches Poll of the season was released Thursday afternoon and it set up a likely early-season No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup. Duke opened at No. 1 and received 20 first-place votes while Michigan State is No. 2 with nine first-place votes. The two teams will square off on Nov. 14 in the Champions Classic at the United Center in Chicago.
