Mark Dantonio’s first significant move at Michigan State was to peer into the soul of the Spartan fan base and embrace the hurt. To fix Michigan State, you have to get Michigan State. No football coach in the last half-century has ever gotten Michigan State like Dantonio. Perhaps no college football coach anywhere has been a better fit at the time they were hired.
