Thursday marked the final practice of preseason camp for the Michigan State football team. Soon after, senior running back Gerald Holmes jumped on I-69 East to make the 50-mile drive from East Lansing to his hometown of Flint. Holmes, 22, arrived at Atwood Stadium a little before 7 p.m. to cheer on his alma mater, Carman-Ainsworth, during the inaugural Vehicle City Gridiron Classic.
