MSU baseball, Brandon Hughes looking toward Big Ten play as season heats up
Coming off a 3-2 loss to Western Michigan on Tuesday, the MSU baseball team currently sits at 15-6 on the season. Junior outfielder Brandon Hughes, who hit four home runs in the Spartans’ three-game series sweep of Illinois last weekend, including three in the third game of the series, was named one of Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week and also a USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Gold Standard Performance of the Week as a result of his dominant performance.The junior from Sterling Heights, Mich.
