In his 22nd year as Michigan State basketball’s head coach after being a longtime assistant, there isn’t much Tom Izzo hasn’t experienced. He battled through two NIT seasons to start his head coaching career. He’s had bubble teams and he’s led teams to No. 1 seeds. He’s won a national title and been to seven Final Fours and he’s also lost in the first round — though not often. He’s always prided himself on having teams that are tough, rebound and defend, but he’s also won with groups that could score and shoot the basketball with anybody.
