All-Americans. Those are what the NFL’s New York Giants get when they draft a Michigan State University linebacker. Saturday, Greg Jones added to an esteemed pair to earn All-American honors and wear the red, white and blue for the Giants by being selected in the sixth round of the 2011 Draft. In 1984, the Giants took former Flint Beecher star Carl Banks, who won two Super Bowls with the G-Men and was named to the Spartans’ All-Decade Team (1980s).

Some fans have jumped to the conclusion that Saturday it will be in there best interest to root for Michigan to defeat Ohio State. These fans would be incorrect, and obviously delusional. I cannot think of a scenario where MSU fans should ever root for the Wolverines, even if a trip to the Rose Bowl is on the line -- or the safety of the human race.

Dantonio should consider someone with MSU ties as Enos' replacement. The only former Spartan player currently on staff is secondary coach Harlon Barnett. How about former receiver Herb Haygood or running back Lorenzo White for the job?

Former Michigan State quarterback Brian Hoyer is moving up in the world -- at least on the draft board of ESPN's Todd McShay. Draft analyst McShay is very high on Hoyer and has him ranked as the No. 4 quarterback on his board, behind Georgia's Matthew Stafford, USC's Mark Sanchez and Kansas State's Josh Freeman.
