With multiple offers including such OL powers in the Big Ten Wisconsin and Iowa, Allen made the call to wear the green and white. “It was pretty exciting,” Allen told Spartan Nation recently. “I was nervous, but I was really excited when I made that call to Coach Roushar.”

For far too long MSU has been a “Have not.” University administration turmoil and disdain towards athletics, scandals, probation, repeated coaching changes, losing records have all contributed to the demise of MSU athletics, especially football, since John Hannah stepped down in 1969
