I have a theory about Raymar Morgan’s tip-slam heard round East Lansing. I think the junior forward’s sickness — the exact same one that forced him to miss a stretch of games as the Spartans struggled — is the reason he made that play. Let’s be honest: Morgan is a flat-out athlete. I would say he, sophomore guard Durrell Summers and senior forward Marquise Gray are the best leapers on the team. But I’ve never seen Morgan get as high as he did with 27.5 seconds left in Tuesday’s game. Not once.
