The Michigan State volleyball team (3-0) defeated North Carolina (1-2), 3-2, in the final game of the 2009 MSU Showcase on Saturday night at Jenison Field House. This win marked the Spartans ninth-consecutive MSU Showcase title, and is the best start to a season since 2006, when MSU began the season 6-0. Sophomore Kyndra Abron (Livonia, Mich.) was named tournament MVP, after posting a .526 hitting percentage over the course of the two-day event.
