The staples of Tom Izzo basketball teams at Michigan State were as impressive as ever in a Big Ten-opening victory today. The No. 15 Spartans dominated with their defense and rebounding in a 70-58 New Year's Eve win over previously unbeaten Minnesota at Williams Arena. Sophomore point guard Kalin Lucas scored a career-high 24 points for the Spartans.
