Freshman Le’Veon Bell might have surprised Michigan State football fans, and perhaps Western Michigan, too. But not one member of the Michigan State team or coaching staff was caught off guard by Bell becoming the first freshman runner in program history to gain more than 100 yards in his first game, a 38-14 win Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
