With starting positions open throughout the lineup, this is expected to be a highly competitive spring for Michigan State football. "What we've lost is star power," coach Mark Dantonio said Tuesday. "We'll find out if we lost the (competitive) edge or not." The competition began Tuesday on campus in the first of 14 practices before the April 25 spring game at Spartan Stadium.
