The NCAA tournament selection committee ranks all teams 1-65. According to NCAA rules, the top-three ranked teams from a conference must be separated into different regions. Would MSU rank higher than Indiana or Purdue? If so, it can't be in the same region as Wisconsin. But if they rank fourth in the Big Ten, the Spartans could join the Badgers in the Midwest regional.
