mlive.com —  Michigan State safety Otis Wiley survived a season of ups and downs last fall. But this summer, surviving took on a whole new meaning after he served in a ministry project on Los Angeles' San Pedro Street, working with urban poor and homeless in one of the nation's most downtrodden neighborhoods. Wiley was one of about 50 college athletes who participated in a program during June called Urban Project-LA, sponsored by the national Christian organization Athletes in Action.
