freep.com —  One day after her birthday, Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll felt all 37 of her years as she trudged up and down the rain-softened slopes of Barton Hills Country Club for 36 holes Tuesday in the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur championship. The walking wore out the Michigan State women's coach, but it also delivered her into today's quarterfinals in Ann Arbor. Slobodnik-Stoll won both of her matches, 2 up, and advanced further than she had in five previous USGA events.
