Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll could not have asked for a better present Monday, as she celebrated her 37th birthday at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. It sure came at the right time for the Michigan State women's golf coach, as she took a 3-and-1 victory over Pam Harnack of Winnetka, Ill., in the first round of match play at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor.
