Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III has authorized criminal charges against 7 current and 2 former MSU football players. The charges are related to an incident at Rather Hall on November 22.

I do feel for the kids, but they are responsible for their actions, and judged by the company they keep....

I have to believe that the fraternity Iota Phi Theta bears some responsibility.. they shouldn't get off scott free either...

Lets wait to see the charges, but as I stated before... Not knowing Coach Dantonio, I have to believe that he has tried to teach the players about self-control and give them enough discipline and to understand the difference between right and wrong for being a steward for the Spartan reputation.

Coach Dantonio needs to make a stern stand, and send a clear message to the media, athletes of all sports, future players, current players, staff, students, Alumni, and fan base.

I still have faith in Coach "D" and the program and direction, even though shaken by this event. I am sure he will do the right thing. I believe he is working to put Michigan State football on a long term path for success.

Lets go win in San Antonio..

2 Vote(s)

It helps that the balance of the Spartan Nation looks at this as a wake up call, and a sign that all successes in life, business and sports do come with periodic steps backward before we continue to climb the ladder. Going forward as a net result is key.

2 Vote(s)

"By the great beard of Zeus you say… The Spartans 12 - 1?" Yes, that's correct... the consensus at the SpartyMSU Football Conference (last weekend in East Lansing), was that there is only 1 game that is a high risk loss, all others are likely to be in the win column….. And we are sticking to our guns… The Coin flip prediction was a little less optimistic at 8 - 5, 4 - 5, but, that's just the flip… its always wrong, and least 80% of three quarters of 50% of the time.

2 Vote(s)

Mark Dantonio's stock is on the rise at Michigan State, and the university rewarded him before the Capital One Bowl with a restructured contract. Dantonio's salary raise puts him on par with other Big Ten coaches, and he will receive a $2 million bonus if he's still coaching Michigan State on Jan. 15, 2016. The Spartans have made upgrades in facilities and recruiting, and if they can keep Dantonio, they'll consistently be in the mix for league titles.

2 Vote(s)

ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg ranks Michigan State at number 4 in a tie with Northwestern: The Spartans clearly peaked in late September/early October, but they continued to fight hard, especially on the defensive side. They outplayed Georgia for a half in the Capital One Bowl but couldn't capitalize on favorable field position. Though Michigan State beat Northwestern in a head-to-head matchup Oct. 11, the Wildcats played better football down the stretch. So it's a push between the teams.

2 Vote(s)

Last season, Michigan State was vocal about wanting to win the Big Ten. The talk ended when the Spartans lost at Iowa and at Penn State, teams that finished near the bottom of the conference. The Spartans finished 12-6 in the Big Ten -- 3-6 away from the Breslin Center. Coach Tom Izzo has harped on last season's Penn State loss since the day it happened, making sure to mention the role it played in taking the Spartans out of the Big Ten race. With No. 7 MSU (13-2, 3-0) headed back to State College today, Izzo has taken the opportunity to bring up the importance of quality play on the road.

2 Vote(s)

For the second straight night, Michigan State found itself down by one goal late in the third period. Unlike Friday night, however, there would be no last-minute rally to pull out a much-need victory. Instead, the Spartans' bid for their first series sweep of the season fell short.

2 Vote(s)

Clearly, something was bothering Michigan State's coach. "You got an hour?" he asked.
