The Michigan State women's tennis team (8-8, 0-5 Big Ten) was dropped by a score of 6-1 by No. 33 Purdue. Sophomore Marina Bohrer captured the lone singles victory for the Spartans at the No. 2 position, defeating Lynda Xepoleas 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9). Bohrer is now 2-0 when she plays on court two.

Redshirt junior Dana Guentert picked up her sixth-straight singles win on court number six against the Hoosiers to earn the Spartans' lone point of the match. Guentert is now 7-2 in singles play.

Despite the loss, two Spartans, redshirt junior Dana Guentert and sophomore Marina Bohrer, each tallied a singles win. Silesova saw action on courts three and four in singles play and won a total of five matches. She also went 4-5 at the No. 2 doubles position.
