The men's swimming and diving team heads to Iowa City this week to compete in the Big Ten Championships, Feb. 22-25. The four-day event will be held at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Pool on the University of Iowa campus. Day one begins on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd with two events, the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Freestyle Relay at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The swimming and diving team opens up the second half of its season with a road match-up at Purdue to take on the Boilermakers in a dual on Saturday, January 14th. Competition for the co-ed dual meet begins at 2 p.m. at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

The Michigan State men's swimming and diving team stands in tenth place after the first day of competition at the Big Ten Championships on the University of Iowa campus. The Spartans broke the varsity school record in the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 6:27.14 to take sixth place and giving them a total of 26 points on the day.

The Spartans saw much improvement in the water with over 11 individuals making it to the finals and standout Jacob Jarzen leading the team along the way. MSU currently stands in tenth place with 86 points.

Michigan State swimming junior Jacob Jarzen has been selected to represent MSU at the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships for the third-straight year. Jarzen qualified in both the 100-yard butterfly and was also invited to compete in the 200-yard backstroke and 200 IM. The finals are set for March 22-24 in Federal Way, Wash.

The Michigan State diving team competed at the two-day NCAA Diving Zone C Regional hosted by the University of Indiana on March 8-10. Five divers competed for the Green and White, with seniors Sarah Clay and Jordan Jackson qualifying for the finals on the one-meter and Jackson also moving onto the finals on the three-meter board.

Michigan State swimmer Jacob Jarzen opened up the first day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday (Mar. 22) afternoon. The three-day is hosted by the University of Seattle at King County Aquatic Center. The junior took 46th place in the 200 IM with a career-best time of 1:47.91, shaving over a second off his previous top time.

The Spartan posted a qualifying time in the afternoon preliminary session of the 100-yard butterfly to advance to the evening's final round; marking the first time a Spartan has done so since 1996. In the finals, Jarzen finished in 11th place with a time of 46.47.
