—  The game started ugly with Michigan State not getting it's first field goal until 15:10 and Penn State not getting it's first field goal until 12:20. The Spartans looked in control at the half leading 33-19, but the Nittany Lions battled back to with in 5 until Michigan State took control again. Draymond Green led all scorers with 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for another double-double. Now the Spartans will face Ohio State for first-place in the Big Ten on Saturday.

Northwestern has three players averaging over 13 points and six rebounds a game - Kendall Hackney (15.1, 6.4), Morgan Jones (15.0, 6.0) and Dannielle Diamant (13.8, 6.5), but are not very deep as only one other player is averaging above four points.
