One day after the Rockford volleyball team is scheduled to conclude Class A district play, Halle Peterson will travel to East Lansing with her teammates to watch Michigan State face Ohio State in volleyball. The junior setter will watch her future team after recently verbally committing to play for Michigan State. She will be the first Rams volleyball player to become a Spartan since Jenny Rood (2000-03).

The Michigan State volleyball team (9-7, 1-4 Big Ten) fell No. 6 Illinois (13-2, 5-0 Big Ten) in a tough five-set match, 3-2. The Spartans performed well defensively as they out dug (71-58) and out blocked (12-8) the sixth-ranked team in the nation. Offensively, the Green and White were led by junior Becca Zlabis (Wheaton, Ill.) with her fourth double-double of the season on 14 kills and 14 digs.
