The men traveled to Champaign, Ill., where there event is hosted by Illinois, while the women are competing in West Lafayette, Ind., on the campus of Purdue. Emily MacLeod got the event started on a high note for MSU as she won the first 3,000-meter indoor title in school history with a time of 9:22.83.

The Michigan State women's cross country team has earned its sixth-straight U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honor, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Overall, MSU has received All-Academic Team distinction on 10 different occasions, dating back to 1994.

Leslie Aririguzo competed in both the 60-meter hurdles as well as the 60-meter dash today. Aririguzo placed first in the hurdles with time of 8.53 and fourth in the dash with a 7.81 mark. Jaelynn Pryor earned the second Spartan win of the day when she was first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.17.

The Michigan State track & field team opened action at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 11 with five first-place finishes. Emily MacLeod turned in winning time of 9:15.60 in the 3000-meter run, the fastest time recorded in the Big Ten this indoor season. Amelia Bannister set the Laker Turf as well as the Big Meet record in the 600-meter run with a first-place time of 1:30.68.
