Izzo said freshman forward Branden Dawson (torn anterior cruciate ligament) is expected to make a full recovery for next season. "I think he'll bounce back 100%," Izzo said. "I really do. My only fear is how much time is he going to lose that he could be working on things." ...

Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo raved about Draymond Green's leadership all season long, even mentioning him with former Spartan greats Magic Johnson and Mateen Cleaves. But Green, a senior, isn't going to be around next season. Izzo is going to be desperately searching for a replacement. Or, more likely, it will have to be replacements.

Anderson, a shooting guard/small forward may or may not be with the Raptors nine days from now or even five, but his story of perseverance is both inspiring and enlightening. Having played in just about every league outside the NBA, Anderson is nothing if not adaptable. So even the rushed return to the NBA Monday afternoon barely fazed him.

If it is true that life’s experiences shape a man, there may be few Raptors more grounded, more appreciative of what he has and of the lifestyle the NBA affords a young athlete, than Alan Anderson. Italy. Russia. Croatia. Spain. Israel. China.
