Trenton Robinson has his work cut out for him.
The former Michigan State Spartans safety was drafted in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, a team which touts one of the top defenses in the NFL. Making the final cut will be difficult for the Bay City native, let alone seeing the field.

Linthicum said some NFL teams called him in the fifth round and told him they were considering selecting him. He heard from some of those same teams in the sixth. He heard from even more teams in the final round.

While there might not appear to be much opportunity for Cousins in Washington as of now, he believes he will get his chance. "I know for a fact that my opportunity’s going to come at some point. I just have make the most of it when it comes. It won’t be easy, but life isn’t easy. Playing in the NFL isn’t easy, period. If I was looking for easy street out of this draft and looking for the most safe road, then I shouldn’t even be in this whole process.

A lot of players on a lot of teams talk about winning national titles, and most of them fall somewhere in the overly optimistic>>>delusional range. MSU's players have earned the right to say it out loud and at least receive a look (one eye raised, one side of upper lip raised) that says: "Hmmm, hadn't really thought of that, but it's not totally crazy." Back in 1994, Washington drafted two quarterbacks -- Heath Shuler third overall and Gus Frerotte in the seventh round. Frerotte eventually beat out Shuler for the job and bounced around to have a decent careet. Frerotte has some advice for Cousins: "Take every rep you can and go the extra mile," "And hope RG3 holds out."
