Earlier this week an emotional William Gholston informed MSU Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio that he was entering the 2013 NFL draft. Spartan Nation was made aware of that meeting from multiple sources with direct knowledge.

Dion Sims appears to be the second Spartan of the day to declare he's forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft. "I want to thank #SpartanNation for 4 of the best years of my life! I'll always bleed green & white!!!" Sims, a fourth-year junior, tweeted Friday.

With news breaking of three of his players potentially declaring for the NFL early, Michigan State's Mark Dantonio was resigned to the reality on a weekly radio appearance. "It's part of the deal in college football," Dantonio told Jeff Rickert and Gino Torretta on Sirius XM. "You're going to have guys leave."

Jim Adams, the longtime voice of Michigan State athletics, died Saturday of pneumonia. He was 82 years old. He was the sports director at the WKAR radio station in Lansing in 1961-93 and did play-by-play broadcasts of football, basketball, baseball and hockey -- at times handling five daily sports broadcasts, the Spartan Sportslite television program and a Broadway music show.

"Coach (Mark) Dantonio has built a great football program at Michigan State,'' Sims said. "He is a great coach and an even better person.
