The Michigan State volleyball team volunteered with the Lansing Area Volleyball Association (LAVA) to give a demonstration of volleyball skills to girls and boys in grades third through eighth during the programs instructional league kick-off event. The Spartans displayed basic volleyball skills for the roughly 180 kids in attendance at Aim High in Lansing, Mich., on Tuesday, March 29.

Junior Carli Weiler and redshirt freshman Alexis Mathews were honored as one of 36 players selected for the 2011 U.S. Women's National A2 Program roster, as announced by USA Volleyball on March 17. The selected individuals, all with collegiate eligibility remaining, will travel to Dallas, Texas from May 23 through June 1 to train and compete in the 2011 USA Volleyball Open National Championships.

Incoming Spartan Kori Moster has been named to Volleyball Magazine's NFINITY Girl's Fab 50 list in its April edition. Additionally, Moster was listed on the ESPN RISE All-America First Team. The Fab 50 list attempts to rank the nation's top 50 volleyball recruits each season while ESPN RISE honors the top 36 recruits.

Michigan State volleyball's incoming freshman Kori Moster participated in the 2010 Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match & Skills Competition as a part of the AVCA Annual Convention in Kansas City, Mo., on December 18, 2010. Moster became the first Spartan to compete in the three-year old match which features 24 of the best high school seniors throughout the nation. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Moster was one of just two liberos to be chosen to compete in the competition.
