The Spartans began action with three doubles victories as junior Mat Nelson and senior Clark Richardson defeated Kalhorn and Abrams, 8-3, and junior Ron Hulewicz and sophomore Christian Roehmer took down Weerasinghe and Romanet, 8-2. Seniors Jason Norville and John Stratton won in the closest doubles match of the morning by defeating Nguyen and Cuadrado, 8-6.
