The Michigan State athletic department is on a good roll - three straight years of finishing with a balanced budget after four straight years of shortfalls that added up to $4.85 million. It's no coincidence that in the past four years, the Big Ten Network (BTN) has supplied about $28 million to MSU and the other Big Ten schools. Network payout to schools reached an all-time high of $7.9 million in the 2010-11 budget year - up from $6.5 million in 2009-10.
