The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.

The Michigan State field hockey program has signed six high school seniors to National Letters of Intent, and those student-athletes will join the Spartans for the 2011 season. Under the direction of newly- appointed head coach, Helen Knull, the newcomers will join a solid core of returning players who advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and eighth time in school history.
