The Spartans and Broncos will play at 9 p.m. ET on Friday and then a doubleheader on Saturday. MSU is coming off a spring break trip that was riddled with storms, forcing two games to be postponed and another cancelled. Baseball msuspartans.com —  Junior right hander David Garner shut down No. 7 Kentucky on Saturday afternoon, pitching 8 1/3 innings while giving up just two hits and one run in a 6-1 win for the Spartans. The Wildcats only tally came off a solo home run in the eighth inning by Paul McConkey. Garner was riding a shutout into the eighth inning and had six strikeouts for MSU. Senior Andrew Waszak got a no decision, giving up just one run in 6 1/3 innings of work. A Wildcats' home run in the bottom of the eighth inning proved to be the difference after the Spartans tied the game in the top of the inning. MSU falls to 5-6 on the season, while Kentucky improves to 12-1.

Baseball msuspartans.com —  The Spartan baseball team wraps up its spring break trip with a three-game set at No. 7 Kentucky this weekend (March 8-10) in Lexington, Ky. Michigan State has had four games affected by weather as of late and its Tuesday game with Tennessee Tech was cancelled due to storms in the area. The Spartans came out on top against the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, 5-3, bringing their record to .500.
