Heim told The Buffalo News that he expected to sign for a signing bonus worth roughly $390,000, which is the MLB-slotted amount for a fourth-round pick. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound, switch-hitting catcher from Amherst, N.Y., was taken Friday by the Orioles with the 129th overall pick in the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

The Spartans did not receive one of 30 at-large bids to the NCAA tournament on Monday, putting the cap on a disappointing and injury-filled season. NCAA selection committee chairman Dennis Farrell told reporters that MSU was the first team left out of the 64-team field.
