Michigan State men's golf junior Chris Mory was named a 2010-11 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Mory is just the eighth Spartan to be honored all-time, but the fourth in the last three seasons. In all, a total of 138 Division I student-athletes, including 10 from the Big Ten, were honored this season.

Michigan State University Athletics Director Mark Hollis announced today that men's golf head coach Sam Puryear has resigned from his position to care for an ailing family member; however, the MSU Athletics Department will continue its relationship with Mr. Puryear, who agreed to continue the Department's outreach to youth golf programs in Detroit. Puryear, the 2008 Big Ten Coach of the Year, led the Spartan program for four years.
