eye-on-college-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com —  It's difficult for Tom Izzo to hide his emotions and thoughts, which is why it was easy to digest that Michigan State's coach wasn't having much fun with his group last season. "I slept with both eyes open," Izzo joked following the Spartans win at Wisconsin last night. "Now I only sleep with one open." Izzo likes this team. Really likes these guys. read more »

lansingstatejournal.com —  If there remains skepticism about the Michigan State football program, the Michigan State football program earned it with decades of fits and starts. The Spartans always seemed to drift toward the middle, as if lured there by some kind of mediocrity magnet. In half a decade under Mark Dantonio, they've broken free of that force and moved toward heights last seen in the 1960s. read more »

spartannation.com —  The Spartans are play selfless and that is a step up from being selfish which is what they were last season. That is something that can’t be taught. This group of players at times has given up great shots only to pass. It hasn’t been an exception, but more like a rule to hear Izzo scream, “Shoot” to his team. Last season terrible shots were taken when great passes to open men were available. This season it is the opposite. read more »
