Announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today (March 5), the Michigan State women's cross country team has been honored with its fifth-consecutive All-Academic Team honor. The 2009 season marked MSU's 11th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships. The Spartans are one of 10 schools in the Big Ten to receive this distinction.

The Michigan State track & field and cross country programs have announced that David Madrigal (Durand, Mich.) will join the Spartans for the 2010-11 season. Madrigal won the 2009 Michigan High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Championship as Durand's first cross country champion.
