The Spartan Track and Field sprints team walked away from the Polytan Invitational with a number of solid performances. Leading the Spartans was Senior Leslie Aririguzo who won the women’s 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.48. Aririguzo came close to breaking her own school record in the event, one that she shares with Jackie Walton who set the record in 2008 at 13.46.

Michigan State finished action yesterday at the Al Owens Classic with three individual wins - two in throwing events - and numerous top five finishes in the two day event held at Grand Valley State University. The Spartans fielded a small squad for the meet, with other select competitors being sent to the Polytan Invitational at the University of Indiana. Zach Hill, Antonio James, and Drake Veitenheimer turned in winning marks for MSU.

Action is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 13th, at 4:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. and Saturday, April 14th, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The meet serves as a stage for some of the best collegiate and post-collegiate athletes to compete in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
