The CASE Cares Miracle Field has a special rubberized surface with painted bases allowing children and young adults with physical and/or cognitive challenges to more safely play baseball.

The Michigan State baseball team defeated Central Michigan before a crowd of 3,458 in the second "Clash at Comerica" Tuesday night, 5-2, completing the series sweep over the Chippewas. The Spartans (34-17) won their fifth straight over Central Michigan and snapped CMU's 10-game winning streak in the process.

The Big Ten Conference announced on Friday the sites for its 2013 and 2014 baseball tournaments. The 2013 Big Ten Baseball Tournament will be held at Target Field in Minneapolis, the home of Major League Baseball's Minnesota Twins, marking the first time that the event will be held at a Major League Baseball facility. The 2014 tournament will be held at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., the site of the NCAA Division I Men's College World Series.

It was a memorable Senior Day for the Michigan State baseball team on Saturday afternoon at McLane Baseball Stadium. Jake Boss Jr. remembers the first time he saw David Garner throw a pitch. It was during a winter baseball camp, and the Michigan State coach was so impressed, he ran over to see exactly who it was and how hard he threw. It was Garner, and the pitch was clocked at 91 miles per hour. It was his first pitch, and when Boss asked if his arm was in shape enough to throw that hard, Garner informed him he hadn't picked up a ball since July — nearly six months earlier.
