Wrestling msuspartans.com —  The Michigan State wrestling team will begin the 2014-15 season Sunday, Nov. 2 when its hosts the annual MSU Open at Jenison Field House. Action will get underway at 9 a.m., with the finals and medal matches slated to start at approximately 6 p.m. More than 25 schools and 500 wrestlers will compete in two divisions (freshman/sophomore and open) on 10 to 12 mats. The tournament is a double-elimination event and no team scores are kept.

The Spartans will take on eight of the top-25 teams from last year, including a home dual against four-year reigning NCAA Champion Penn State and a total of seven top-25 teams from the Big Ten Conference. McClure (27-7) earned the No. 7 seed in the heavyweight bracket and will face Pittsburgh's Patrick Tasser (17-9) in the first round. Rizqallah (20-10), the No. 14 seed at 184 pounds, will take on the winner between Lock Haven's Fred Garcia (24-7) and Indiana's Luke Sheridan (27-14) in the first round. All of the matches at the NCAA Championships will be streamed live on WatchESPN.com.
