Michigan State men’s soccer player Jonathan Stout was named to the 2023 Academic All-America® men’s soccer third team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. The midfielder is the first Spartan to capture Academic All-American honors since 2016. In that season, Brad Centala was named to the second team and Andrew Herr captured third-team accolades.

Michigan State men’s soccer players Jonathan Stout and Zac Kelly both earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region team on Tuesday. The duo were the first Spartans to capture All-North Region honors since 2018 when Giuseppe Barone and Patrick Nielsen were named to the first team and Jimmy Hague Ryan Sierakowski earned second-team nods.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 6-0-4 this season and 2-0-2 in league action, which is top of the Big Ten table. With six wins, MSU matches last year’s total win total, as the Spartans went 6-9-2 in 2022.
